    Default lloyd alexander ts

im asumeing since there is no "lloyd" spot on the site that the name plate will get dumped in here like the far and few other sites that are around fro the long lost lloyds

sooo ill attatch a few of the MANY MANY pics of my "project" lloyd...course at this point its probably more alfa than lloyd ..if theres enuf intrest ill post more of them
first a few of day 1

initialy i was going to simply restore it..but as i dug into it and the more i learned the more i feared the car and the things it lacked....the front suspension is scary at best with its leafsprings..the little yet "top of the line" 25hp 600cc air cool 2cyl i did get to run and sounded like half a vw 4cyl 0-60 in 1 min OOO ahh and a top speed of...62mph...at 1200lbs

after takeing the car apart and going over every inch i deemed the engine and suspension "not up to the task" of being safe or enjoyable no mater what i did to them..lets face it the average speed on the hiways here in the states is about 75mph...the wheel/tires stock are 15x2.5...the same size as your average space saver spare tire

along the way i modified the headlights with the inner set of "eyebrows" from a late 70s jaguar hood..tweeked the rear door to have a "power" slideing window, shaved the door handles as the originals were not saveable and not availible as well as not realy a safe design...tail lights and turn signals long gone and replacements are well next to imposible to get ahold of..and a tad ugly imo and clash with the body of the car

the one with me in it..im 6'4..soo i was running a seating and dash fitment/placement

soo heres a few shots mid way thru

and now heres where i sit..far from finished but looking ever so much more promising to be a total SCREAM to drive

i took an alfa milano platinum took 20 inches out of its length gutted it down to nothing and have started fitting the lloyd body to it

    the current plans are to

make the windshield a POWER windshield that goes down into the firewall(should be fun for cruising at the beach or in town)
rebuild the hood from SCRATCH or mostly...i think the car needed a more early 50s hood line much like a 49-51 mercury to finish off the bodylines
    scratch build a grill
add a 4 inch wide panel between the fender(front and rear) to "stretch" the body out to the width of the milano suspension
(should make the fender lines more "50s")
    build a dash and console....

    anyway heres its current position

Dude! What are you doing out - barefoot - in the wet NW weather!? You might catch a cold that will travel up you legs and settle in the main-vein!

Don't assume the combination here with Borgward! Send Simon Mestas (the site admin) an email and let him know that there is potentially a seperate brand here to add to the list of cars under the main list of manufacturers!

So, now we all know what you look like - you might have all of those purist types from the AlfaBB come after you for choppin' up that 500 dollar Milano that sat on Craig's list and that nobody else would buy for like 3 months!

actualy the lloyd nameplate died in 1961/62 while borgward kepts going ...the odds of seeing a lloyd in person...slim to none..your more likely to see a few montreals befor ever seeing a lloyd
